One of the central means of communication of a company with customers or investors are PowerPoint presentations. A consistent design based on the company's own corporate design guidelines underscores its professionality.

Microsoft Office does not naturally support all of the user's design wishes, but customized VBA programming makes (almost) every wish come true in the end. Frequently mentioned requirements from our experience are:

• Uniform design of all images at the push of a button.
• Automatic insertion of a table of contents.
• Dialog-based reduction to given design elements
• Final checks of any kind, e.g. checking the slide complexity.

In the example shown above, the customer required the following functionality:

• A dialog-based choice of two skins for different audiences.
• A way to automatically generate the footer including the total number of slides.
• Reducing design to the options defined by the graphic designer when inserting tables and arrows.
• Forcing consistent lower case letters in titles required a final check of the presentation.

Making use of an add-in, the functions were made available to users via keyboard shortcuts and a “cockpit”.
