A global company creates image analysis software. The interface elements (menu items, labels, buttons, warnings, etc.) must appear in the languages of the users.
Since the software is updated on a regular basis, new text elements are constantly generated, to be translated promptly: efficient software development requires a sophisticated corporate translation management (CTM).
The translation process runs asynchronously, and a single, central online database keeps the results ready for automated and immediate integration into the image analysis software.
One particular challenge is displaying special fonts with non-Latin characters. Furthermore, the system uses the hierarchical relationship between certain languages to speed up the translation process. An example: the similarity of the traditional and simplified Chinese versions.
